ORGANISATIONS HELPED

Home-Start Watford & Three Rivers received £2,000 from the Watford Community Fund which helped to support 45 children and 47 carers enjoy seasonal activities with their Leavesden Family Group.

 

Highlights included snow-making, bug hunts, Science Week experiments, and self-care play. Families marked key events with creative crafts for Valentine’s, Eid, and more. A pop-up bookshop and library visit inspired storytelling and connection. Each session supported children’s growth while helping parents build confidence, friendships, and a sense of community.

hyh received £2,000 from the Community Fund to support funding for sessions preventing youth homelessness in Hertfordshire. These equip young people with life skills and early support, covering topics like homelessness, independent living, conflict resolution, and healthy relationships, including abuse, exploitation, coercive control, sexting, and consent.

Thank to this funding 826 young people in Watford were educated in 2024 and 2025, of those educated over 224 vulnerable young people received more than one of the education sessions.

JAZZ JUNCTION

Watford Jazz Junction received £2,000 from the Community Fund to support stage costs for Jazz Steps. The event attracted 3,000 attendees, showcasing first-class performances and enriching the community.

 

One attendee shared, “It’s incredible to have this amazing festival in Watford.” Another highlighted the Family Fun Day’s impact, saying, “It was a wonderful experience for the kids, and it brought the community together.”

ONE VISION

One Vision received £2,000 from the Community Fund to help purchase a new van. This van enabled the delivery of food to 34 residents (22 adults and 12 children) ensuring vital support for those in need.

 

One recipient shared their gratitude, saying, “Just want to say thank you for everything you do, don’t know what we would do without you.” The van has been instrumental in reaching vulnerable families and maintaining consistent food support during challenging times.

NEW HOPE

New Hope received £2,000 from the  Community Fund to purchase food for the Haven. This funding delivered meals to 95 people facing homelessness or hardship. The Haven offered food and hope.

 

One user praised the “fantastic” meals, while another, living in their car with £15 left, credited the Haven for preventing hunger and securing them a room in the Sanctuary. “Breakfast at the Haven makes you feel happier,” said another. “It helps you stay positive.”
